Greatest Warrior of All Time

Greatest Warrior of All Time

  1. Jai Sri Ram
This is a great blog. In my humble opinion the top 15 rankings should be like this.
    1. Lord Ram
    2. Lord Krishna
    3. Lord Parshurama
    4. Lord Hanuman
    6. Great Lakshmana
    7. Lord Balrama
    8. A tie between Gangaputra Bheeshma and Suryaputra Karna
    9. Indrajeet Meghnad
    10 Great Ravana
    11 Indrapurta Arjuna
    12 Abhimanyu
    13 Guru Drona
    14 Ashwatthama
    15 Kishkindha Naresh Bali
This is the top 15 in my opinion. I know readers may find it a little strange. Ie how come Ravanas name is above Bali ? After all Bali had defeated Ravana ?. Friends first of all Ravana was not born powerful. He first received a boon from Brahma and then subsequently astras from Lord Shiva ie Chandrahasa Khadak. There are 4 types of strenght which a warrior has. one is Bahubal- physical strenght, Varabal strenght of a boon and third is astra bal - divine weopons like Brahmastra etc and last is tapobal or Spiritual strenght Vashishtha with his brahmadanda nullified all the astras of Vishwamitra duing their confrontation. Sri Krishna also being GOD protected Arjuna and his chariot from lethal astras during the war with infinite spiritual strenght. Later on that chariot burst into flames when Sri Krishna alighted from it. This spiritual strenght or Tapo bal is most powerful hence I have placed the 3 avtars of Sri Vishnu as top 3 and both the avtars of Shesha ie Lakshmana and Balrama. I know there are versions which show Bheeshma also defeating Sri Parshurama. But that was just by an astra to put him to sleep. And Sri Parshuramas purpose as an incarnation being over by that time he was not using his full powers. Please note the Srimad Bhagwat puran mentions that When the Kauravas had captured Sri Krishnas son Samba. Lord Balram took his plough and dragged the Hastinapur city in Bheeshmas presence as he was an incarnation whose purpose is not over and is authorised to use his powers.Astra bal comes next. Its more powerful than vara bal and bahu bal. This is evident in Lord Shiva and Jayadratha episode. Lord Shiva gave Jayadratha a boon that he will check the formation of 4 Pandavas except Arjuna. Thats becoz Arjuna had the Pashupat atra. Hence the boon could not cover him. That boon included Bhima who had bahu bal. This proves that vara bal is superior to bahu bal. Ravana had Astra bal vara bal and bahu bal all 3. He was at his peak prowess forcing Sri Vishnu to incarnate as Sri Ram. Vali only had Bahu bal and Vara bal. After gaining astras when Ravan conquered Indra with the help of Indrajeet there is no record of Vali stopping Ravan. After all Vali was the son of Indra. Arjuna being the son of Indra has helped Indra when he had gone to swargaloka to fight certain rakshasas. Bheeshma and Karna both had astra bal and vara bal. Physically also they were know to be powerful.
    C. Rajagopalacharis mahabharat and various other sources reveal that Karna had a fist fight with Jarasandha a very strong man in his time whom even Bhima had difficulty subduing . Ravana also lifted the Kailash parvat indicating his immense strenght. I am sorry to say Arjuna cannot really claim any feat of physical strenght . He did have a fist fight with Lord Shiva but was beaten badly. There is no record of him defeating any reputed strong man of his time in wrestling. Hence I have placed him behind Karna Bheeshma and Ravana. In astras Arjuna too was superb.
    best regards

    1. Dear Niraj,
Instead of comparing the different warriors on the basis of Bahubal(physical strenght), Varabal(strenght of a boon), Astra bal(divine weopons) and Tapobal(Spiritual strenght), I would suggest you to look at the results of all the fights which a warrior had fought during his life span.
And on the basis of that you will find Arjun was the greatest warrior of all time.
Kindly read the following points for your reference :

Arjun had never ever been beaten by anyone.

Do you remember the "Viraat yuddha" where he single-handedly defeated the whole Kaurav Army
which included- Karna, Bhishma, Duryodhana, Dronacharya etc. & that too without the help of
      Krishna.

Also, if you have read the Original Mahabharat Book then you will find that Arjun defeated Karna
on 7 different Occasions-Thrice in Viraat War, once during Draupadi Swayamwar & thrice during
      Mahabharat War

Arjun single-handedly defeated the 'Yadavas' during the Subhadra Kidnapping, this story you can find in Srimad Bhagavat Puran.

Lord Shiva could only contain Arjun because of his Celestial weapons...& fist fight with Lord Shiva was unfair because Arjun was thin & emaciated at that time due to his "Tapasya". But here we are talking about the warrior's personal fighting abilities....so Arjun prevails in that. Dont you remember only Arjun & Karna could lift the Bow of Draupadi Swayamwar, which even the powerful Jarasandh could not lift.

Also, Karna was defeated 8 to 10 times by Kunti-putra Bhima in Mahabharat War, & by Abhimanyu
during the Chakravhiew War. Abhimanyu also defeated Dronacharya during the Chakravhiew War.

Lord Krishna ran away from battles from Jarasandh & Kalaywan so he finds a lower spot. Krishna could not kill Jarasandh & Kalaywan with his "Tapobal".

If you have read the Mahabharat Book in detail then you would know that Karna's capabilities had
been over-exagerated in B.R.Chopra's Mahabharat TV serial, so that the Battle between Karna &
Arjun in the Mahabharat war could look more competitive & Fierce.

Karna was never a match for Arjun.

Karna ran away after being defeated by Gandharvas who had captured Duryodhan.

Karna was also defeated along with the Kaurav army while battling with the Drupad for giving "Gurudakshina" to Drona.

Karna was only relying on his "Shakti Weapon" to kill Arjun & not on his own abilities.

Arjun could have killed Bhishma, Duryodhana, Dronacharya etc. easily if he wanted to in the
Mahabharat War...But because of his reluctance to kill them...made Krishna to find other ways to
kill them...Dont you remember how Arjun ran to kill Dristadyumna when he killed Dronacharya..

Also, Arjun defeated all the Kings of India during the "Ashwamedh Yagya" after the Mahabharat war. Such was Arjun's power & status of Pandavas that even Yadavas including Balram & Krishna had accepted the Dominance of Pandavas & agreed to work under the "Pandav Samrajya". Pandavas ruled the whole India Over 36 Years before they went to Himalayas.

In my opinion the top 10 Mahabharat rankings should be like this:

      1. Arjun
      2. Gangaputra Bheeshma
      3. Lord Parshurama
      4. Abhimanyu
      5. Guru Drona
      6. Kunti-putra Bhima
      4. Lord Krishna
      7. Lord Balrama
      8. Karna
      9. Satyaki
      10.Ashwatthama

Kindly note the warriors from Ramayan Yuga, had all fought with their armies or with celestial
weapons, so they cannot be compared.

Dear sir if Arjuna is a real warrior as you say then why he can't take gandhiva after Krishna's death, why he can't defeat the thieves when they kidnap the wives of krishna, did he defeat anyone directly?,even now also you say i only take battle victory opinion then please see that Karna defeated every single pandava(including arjuna who saved by sunset on 16th day of battle),arjuna killed everyone by attacking their weakness but karna fought and defeated everyone by their known strength

    5. Yes mohanraj vk you are right in all time lord krishnna help the arjuna but there was no anyone tha help the larna like lord krishna helped arjuna arjuna have all thing but karna has to take anything in life by his hardwork karna defeat by arjuna becauase karna is from wrong side and arjuna from right side and karna were defeat in 17 th day of battle becauase of his shraap only.in real arjuna want defeat karna this line lord krishnna says

But I think Bali comes on 1st Rank
as Mrayada Purshotam Ram need to kill him from behind
Else Rama never tried to cross the limits
So I think Bali is invincible in one to one fight

    What say

    May Be I am wrong
But I am attached to Bali as something bad is happened with him

Parasurama was defeated by bheesma, and then the incident of balarama taking hastinapura was said to happen during the marriage of laksmana daughter of duryodhana is a folk lore , In the authenitca mahabharat (KMG) there is no such story of balarama taking hastinapura and laksmana is a son of duryodhana, this folk lore has been done by some balaram fan and he had done a big mistake of changing duryodhna's son into a daughter for his story .

    ReplyDelete
  4. Jai Sri Krishna
Respected Sirs Agreed that the Balram incident is not mentioned in moola mahabharata but I have read it in Srimad Bhagwat puran of ISKON authorities It says Duryodhan had a daughter Lakshmani and a son Lakshmana. This I think is revealed in a conversation between Vyasas son Shuka deva and Raja Pariksheet the grandson of Arjuna. As you yourself have acknowledged that KMG mahabhata has skipped out many incidences not only related to mahabharata but also to Karna for eg Karna moving Arjunas chariot and Krishna praising him is not mentioned in KMG mahabharata. Coming to Vali I agree he was a warrior with a rather impressive one to one combat track record but he had his limitations. A true warrior has to have capability to face many warriors single handedly. Vali was not a trilok vijaya neither did any Rajasuya yagya or ashwamedha yagya. Hanuman was extremly successful against him in the protection of Sugriva. A true warrior is capable to handle himself even in a surprise attack from an unexpected opponent. Look at Arjuna. When he was meditating on Lord Shiva for hte Pashupat astra his eyes closed in meditation and dhyana an asura attacked him in disguise of a boar. Arjunas eyes was closed he didnt even see that boar attacking him. Just as Vali was focussing in Sugreeva Arjuna was focussing on Worshiping Shiva. Valis eyes were open Arjunas eyes were infact closed as he was meditating but immediatly he sensed the attack and fired an arrow at that rakshasa. Later on he saw another arrow in that rakshasas body and had a duel with Lord Shiva. In shastra vidya you dont always have to be in front of your opponent while attacking. Ashwatthama had fired the brahmastra on Pandavas and then deviated the astra towards Uttaras womb. And Uttara was not in Ashwatthamas vission. She was miles away from him. Vali without divine weapons is as vulnerable as Uttara in such an attack becoz he did not have divyastras . Lord Rama was just respecting the boon of a god to Vali. He did not even have to hide behind a tree to see Vali. Just sitting like Ashwaththama He too was more than capable to direct a weopen towards him. For that matter any opponent with divine weapons could do that to Vali

So why you think Ravana didnt done that?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Shri Dhruv. In all honesty I have no proper answer to above question becoz here an analysis of Ravans psychology is involved. Every person will have some good qualities and bad qualities and that’s applicable to Ravan as well. Ravan to my knowledge has been humbled on 3 occasions. By Lord Shiva by Kartaveerya and by Vali. The unique thing about Ravan was that he came out richer in alliances after each of that encounter. Lord Shiva humbled him by putting his toe on Kailash parvat and almost crushing him. Next event Ravan becomes Lord Shivas bhakta and obtains blessings. There is no record of Ravan having any ill feeling towards Lord Shiva. There is no record of Ravan having any hostility towards Kartaveerya as well. Its reasonable to assume that Ravan had the quality of Kritagyata and admired bravery of his victors. Let me remind you that Jarasandha despite getting defeated by Krishna on many occasions retained his aggression towards Krishna. Jayadratha being defeated by Pandavas in vanvasa and got his life spared retained his aggression towards them

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jarasandha not defeated by Krishna I think.
    May be I am unaware.
And same I think regarding Pandavas.
Pandavas also dont defeated him in Vanvaas.
Only Karna once defeated him and he appreciated Karna.

  8. Shri Dhruv. I will be creating it shorly today. Pandavas had defeated Jayadratha during vanvaas. Jarasandha was defeated by Krishna captured by Balrama the first time. He lost to Krishna on 16 occasions. 17th time Krishna escaped from mathura and created Dwarka. Jarasandha scoffed at Krishna and called him Ranchood. Later Bhima killed jarasandha. And Jayadrathat after the Vanvaas of Pandavas got killed by Arjuna to avenge abhimanyus death.
    best regards

  9. in KMG krishna doesn't defeat jarasandha, he runs away from him and uses the help of yuddi to defeat him (the reasons are like jarasandha has a boon from chanda kausika and then jarasandha has an army of 3 akhousini so he cannot be defeated by army force, or mace fight , but his mace was broken. then agains bhima defeats him only by wrestling )

    ***/
I think no one can do that thats why Bali/Vali was alive and feared by many kings. He is a mighty king. He loved Sugreeva a lot but I think anger screwed him. But no one can match his power. And Rama also cant defeat him in fair battle thats why Rama done this to Bali.

Rama was the Mrayada Purshotam and he never do anything wrong if there is another way around.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Shri Dhruv the explaination of Vali according to Kamba Ramayana is that Shri Ram was afraid that Like Sugriva if Vali too came in his sharan Lord Ram would be in a dharam sankat whom to help thats why he choose to hide. Being a maryada purshottam he could not refuse a sharnarthi.
As you rightly pointed out Vali was a mighty king and also a nice guy. Being the son of Indra ie a devputra although a monkey it was easy for him to recognize the divine status of Shri Ram. Infact his recorded conversation with his noble wife Tara proves that he had a very high opinion of Shri Ram and was aware of his status as a maryada purshottam and thats why was so confident that Lord Ram wont kill him. I have already proven that a great warrior is capable to handle himself in a surprise attack that too with his eyes closed. I have proven that tapobal is most superior. Even Vali was a victim of tapobal. Rishi matang with his tapobal had cursed Vali that if he ever sets foot on Rishyamukh parvat he would be burnt. Vali was totally helpless in front of this Rishi. Same goes for Valis boon as well. Lord Krishna saving Arjuna with his tapobal and nullifiying amogh divyastras is a well known fact. Lord Ram was an incarnation of Vishnu and also had this tapobal. Most people will agree that Lord Ram was superior to Rishi Matang. Vali was NOT invincible. Even Surgiva knew that. Thats why when Vali was in the cave for many days he concluded that Vali was killed. Remeber when Marichi yelled out o Lakshmana o Sita. Lakshamana was as cool as a cucumber and knew this is some trick and no harm can come to Shri Rama. Some times because of nobility people display respect to feelings and sentiments. Hanuman had the ability to nullify Indrajeets brahmastra but respecting Lord Brahma did not nullify it immediatly and choose to be captured. Later Hanumanji broke free from this astra and burnt whole of Lanka with Indrajeet and Ravan helplessly gaping. Hanuman respecting Indrajeets astra doesnt hamper Hanumans capabilities. Similiarly Shri Ram respecting Valis boon or for that matter his own principle as marayada purshottam and choosing to hide does not make Vali superior. In any case a maharathi is a warrior who can tackle many warriors simultaneously at a radius of 360 degrees. Mera dushman mujhse chupa hua that is no excuse as when you are surrounded by many warriors from all sides koi an koi toh aap ke eyesight se chuppa hua hi hoga. Besides Vali was a monkey and a monkey can be hunted down from hiding hence it was not adharma. Yoy might come up with a point that if he was a monkey then how come he spoke to Ram and knew him to be a devta. But apparently some vanara or even vulture tribes had this ability for example Jatayu was a vulture who spoke to Sri Rama , scolded Ravana fought and nobly sacrificed his life for Sri Rama
    best regards

And I am 100% agreed with you. Lord Rama's life is a ideal life except 2-3 glitches like Bali and Sita Tyag else Rama lived a perfect life. Krishna's life is way different.

  13. Should Karna be equal to Parasurama?

Parashurama accepted Karna as his student and trained him to such a point, that he declared Karna to be equal to himself in the art of warfare and archery. One day, after Parashurama had imparted all his knowledge to Karna, he decided to test his skills. Parashurama ordered Karna to fight him a single duel. Karna bowed before his Guru and saught his blessings and after being blessed, he dueled his Guru and in a short span, he disarmed his Guru. Impressed at this, Parashurama gifted his personal bow Vijaya to Karna.

Being an Indian, I do not know how you can come up with Hector and Achilies. These heroes were from epics just like ours so how come you are considering them as real and our heroes as imiginary. Others, like Muslims and Christians have hidden their own stories that are just like ours calling them real while saying that our epics are myths. You have been listening to their ideas. Wake up and look at our epics from Indian views instead of foreigners views.

  20. Hi All,

Please find the correct sequence, which should be for the reasons given with each:

    1. Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Lord Parshurama, Lord Hanuman
These all are incarnations of GOD so we cannot sequence them. Parshuram was at the top of his time, he was defeated by bhishma when his awatar was over. Dont forget, he had beaten all kshatriyas 21 times and made earth lshatriya free that many times.
Lord Hanuman was no less powerful - all these should come at same level.
    2. Great Lakshmana - since he defeated Indrajeet
    3. Indrajeet Meghnad - was much better in war skills than Ravana
    4 Great Ravana
    5. A tie between Gangaputra Bheeshma and Suryaputra Karna - these two greats were equal, wonder what wiould have happened if both of them fought against each other.
    6. Lord Balrama
    7. Guru Drona
    8. Indrapurta Arjuna
    9. Abhimanyu
    10. Ashwatthama
    11. Kishkindha Naresh Bali - deserves the last position as he was under the protection of a boon. If such boon is given to a small child then even he can beat great guys.

  21. JAI SHRI RAM............. GUYS I AM REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE DISCUSSION ABOVE. AS FOR PANKAJ, HE IS LIKE A PERSON WHO SHOWS OFF HIMSELF BY DISRESPECTING OUR GODS AND THE WARRIORS. OUR RELIGION IS THE OLDEST AND I THINK I AM REALLY FORTUNATE TO BE BORN IN INDIA AND I AM REALLY PROUD OF IT.

I HAVE SOME QUERIES, SO PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY QUESTIONS:
    1. IS IT RIGHT TO HUNT ANIMALS IN HINDUISM?
    2. KARNA ACCORDING TO ME WAS THE BEST WARRIOR WHO NEVER GAVE UP IN LIFE. TELL ME WHO COULD KILL KARNA ( LEAVING THE GODS), IF HIS ALL THE CURSES UPON HIM ARE REMOVED?
    3. IN TODAY'S WORLD WE SEE A LOT OF FEMALE INFANTICIDE, LORD KRISHNA CURSED ASHWATTHAMA FOR HIS ACT OF INFANT KILLING. TELL ME WHAT PUNISHMENT WILL THE PEOPLE OF TODAY'S WORLD WOULD GET FOR INFANT KILLING.
    4. IT IS ALSO MENTIONED THAT MANY KINGS MARRIED MORE THAN ONCE, BUT THIS PRACTICE IS NOW CONDEMEND , WHY?
    5. DID DURYODHAN ACTUALLY HAD THE LOVE AND AFFECTION TOWARDS KARNA, WHICH KARNA HAD FOR HIM?
6.IT IS SAID THAT LORD VISHNU WOULD APPEAR ON EARTH FOR HIS 10TH AVTAR, PLEASE TELL ME WHEN WILL IT BE?
    7. IS GIVING ANIMAL BALI RIGHT IN HINDUISM?
    8. IF LORD HANUMAN, ASHWATHHAMA ARE ALIVE TODAY WHY DIDN'T THEY HELP THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS IN THE GREAT REVOLT?
    9. IS IT TRUE THAT PRITHVIRAJ CHAUHAN HAD ONCE MET ASHWATHHAMA, AND ARE ALL THE REPORTS OF ASHWATHHAMA SITING TRUE?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jai Shri Ram. Mr. Manoj. You have asked some very intelligent questions. I will try to answer some of them to my humble ability

. IS IT RIGHT TO HUNT ANIMALS IN HINDUISM?
Hunting animals which are dangerous to humans ie man eating tiger cannot be condemmed. Its essential becoz human life is most precious.

    2. KARNA ACCORDING TO ME WAS THE BEST WARRIOR WHO NEVER GAVE UP IN LIFE. TELL ME WHO COULD KILL KARNA ( LEAVING THE GODS), IF HIS ALL THE CURSES UPON HIM ARE REMOVED?
A battle competency of an incarnation of Vishnu can be equaled. As I have said they are many types of bal. Including astra bal and tapo bal. Tapo bal is superior hence Shri Krishna as his designation as God can nullify astras and could have killed Karna or anyone for that matter.
    3. IN TODAY’S WORLD WE SEE A LOT OF FEMALE INFANTICIDE, LORD KRISHNA CURSED ASHWATTHAMA FOR HIS ACT OF INFANT KILLING. TELL ME WHAT PUNISHMENT WILL THE PEOPLE OF TODAY’S WORLD WOULD GET FOR INFANT KILLING.
Infanticide is a crime so is abortion. Killing an infant whose birth has taken place should be punishable very harshly
    4. IT IS ALSO MENTIONED THAT MANY KINGS MARRIED MORE THAN ONCE, BUT THIS PRACTICE IS NOW CONDEMEND , WHY?
Even in those days King marrying many wives was not looked kindly at. We see Draupadi very angry with Arjuna when he married Subhadra. That’s why Maryada Purshottam title is given to Lord Ram not any one else.

    5. DID DURYODHAN ACTUALLY HAD THE LOVE AND AFFECTION TOWARDS KARNA, WHICH KARNA HAD FOR HIM?
Yes. Its said Duryodhana cried only twice in his life. First when he was a new born baby second when he heard the news of Karnas death.

6.IT IS SAID THAT LORD VISHNU WOULD APPEAR ON EARTH FOR HIS 10TH AVTAR, PLEASE TELL ME WHEN WILL IT BE?
    In don’t know.
    7. IS GIVING ANIMAL BALI RIGHT IN HINDUISM?
    I don’t think so

    8. IF LORD HANUMAN, ASHWATHHAMA ARE ALIVE TODAY WHY DIDN’T THEY HELP THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS IN THE GREAT REVOLT?
This question is a philosophical one. Why didn’t Shri Krishna protect Abhimanyu and the 5 sons of Draupadi from getting killed. He too was alive at that time wasn’t he.

    9. IS IT TRUE THAT PRITHVIRAJ CHAUHAN HAD ONCE MET ASHWATHHAMA, AND ARE ALL THE REPORTS OF ASHWATHHAMA SITING TRUE?
    In don’t know.

  24. hi dhruv,

u r wrong, vaali doesn't deserve 1st rank, becase he has boon that he gets half of the strength from the person who is infront of him. This is not great, without any hard work, he acquired this boon.

See Lord Shri Rama, from childhood how he learned the arts and studies. He deserves the first rank. Rama's policy is "one word", "one arrow".

Let me remind u something, in the Ramayan Shri rama never said that "i am god". He was a human being on earth during Tretayug. But in the mahabharat Shri krishna said "i am everything, i am the supreme god". See the difference.

  26. I 100% agree with vamsi. in mahabharat arjun proved himself superior than karna so many times.he faught alone against all kaurav maharathis including karna, bhishma pitamah, dronacharya, ashwatthama, kripacharya and duryodhan in virat yuddha and defeated all of them and at that time his sarathi was uttarkumar so nobody was saving arjuna from divyastra. karna was defeated in battle against chitrasen gandharva while he had duryodhan, dushasan and kaurav army on his side and then arjun and bhim defeated chitrasen.even in draupadi swamvar when karna tried to fight arjun, arjun broke karna's bow with his arrows and karna was so amazed that he bowed to arjun (who was in a brahmin's form). it is said in this blog that arjun tried to fight lord shiva and was beaten badly, i want to say that nobody ever could stand in front of lord shiva, he is the greatest warrior of all times, even ravan was badly beaten by him so this episode does not show arjun's weakness.
whoever else got boon from lord shiva became invincible, so was arjun after he recieved pashupat astra from shiva but he never used this astra and faught his enemies with normal weapons because pashupat astra could burn entire earth in few minutes.. i have more to say but time doesn't allow so next time.

  27. Bowing at the lotus feet of Bhagwaan Shri Krishna I would say that In this blog it has been made clear that Karna too had the Pashupat astra and Lord Krishna has sanctioned Karna as equal or superior to Arjuna. In the blog the final battle of Karna and Arjuna also has been discussed and reading it any man of integrity would be convinced of Karnas heroism. Arjuna did not defeat Karna at Draupadis swayamvar. Any verion of Mahabharata which says this is rubbish. Karna was a man who respected Brahmins a fact Even Krishna acknowledged. When Indra came to take the kavach kundalas he too was disguised as a Brahmin. Which proves my point. Arjunas was disguised as a Brahmin in that swayamvara C. rajagopalacharis Mahabharata mentions Lord Krishna intervening. The battle of kurukshetra was a different ball game from Virat yudha. Proof - after the virat yudha arjuns chariot did not burn up in flames. After the battle at Kurukshetra Arjunas chariot which was a divine chariot burst up into flames after Lord Krishna alighted from it and Lord Krishna explained him that he was protecting it from getting destroyed. Even after Duryodhan was fatally wounded by Bhima Duryodhan told Shri Krishna that had the Pandavas fought a fair battle they could never have won. And Lord Krishna agreed with Duryodhyana telling the Pandavas that warriors like Karna and company were invincible. When Krishna himself has sanctioned Karna as equal or possibly superior to Arjuna trying to prove Karna inferior means your thought process is as follows
“ God (Krishna) could not acknowledge Karna as inferior to Arjuna , I will try to prove Karna inferior ie I will succeed where God failed. In Sanskrit this is called vipreet gyana or it can be termed as unintentional blasphemy.

Akampana the lone survivor went and reported to Ravana - Don't think of battle with him...so all the others Arjuna, Karna, et al won't stand a chance against Rama at his best.

  30. I say Lord Ram is the greatest warrior as he had better foresight and was more effiecient - he won with minimal losses, infact he helped Sugriv recover his kingdom from Bali with no loss at all.

On the other hand the Mahabharat war was so disastrous that:
    a) Pandavas/Yadu survivors were unable to stop Krishna's family members from being kidnapped and Arjuna from being robbed.
    b) Afterwards they were unable to send an army out to search and rescue/recover.
    c) The next emperor Parkishit was assasinated by Nagas (tribals?)
    d) All military technology from that time has been lost (astras/vimanas)
    e) Military knowledge from that time has also been lost/misinterpreted. For example:
    1) The Kauravas outflanked Abhimanyu succesfully but this has been misinterpreted as 'Surrounding him unfairly'
    2) Karna, Duryodhan, Krishna and others sometimes retreated strategically/fell back to prevent being outflanked but this has been misinterpreted as 'Running away'.

No offence to anyone but I consider Lord Krishna and the Pandavas to be a disaster for Indians. Imagine if at the end, instead of ordinary robbers who kidnapped Krishna's wives and robbed him, Arjuna faced Alexander or Genghis Khan ? They would have destroyed him.

Also if Naga tribals could assasinate Parikshit then imagine what Alexander or Genghis Khan would do?

  31. Hi Niraj/Dhruv

Sorry If I'm wrong, but to me the Virat/Gandharva battles and even the bit about killing Abhimanyu/Jayadrat seem like children's stories about morality that have been added on to the Mahabharat or misinterpreted/changed to make Arjuna/Abhimanyu look like a superhero.

Plus in those the characterisation is so inconsistent with the rest of the epic. For example if Arjuna and Abhimanyu are so powerful that they could win by themselves, then why the need of calling theire allies to bring their armies? Also then why the need of Krishna? Also if they were that powerful then why did the Pandavas suffer shuch a huge loss in the war?

    What do you think?

  34. According to me: Ranking should be:

    1. Lord Rama
    2. Lord Krishna
    3. Lord parshurama

All of them are the incanation of Lord Vishnu. Ranking is based as per their great actions of bravity displayed by them in their respective times. Here Lord Rama is undoubtedly No.1 but between Lord Krishna and parshuram I am bit confused. becuse Lord parshuram is no less than Krishna if you see Lord Parshurama also did all brave actions as a simple human being not like lord krishna who declared himself an ultimate god.

    4. Lord hanuman
    5. Lord Laxmana
    6. Great Vali
    7. Great Ravana
    8. Meghnada

Though Ravana and Meghnada were demons but they were very brave and fought with Rama and Lakshmana. Their ranking can n't be lower to Bheesma & Co. They defeated all the gods. except Brahma, Vishnau and Mahesh.

9.Bhheshma- Bheeshma was a great warrior but remained a silent spectator on many occasions has been citicized.
    10. Arjuna and Karna . I consider them alike. Though Karna deserve a cut above Arjuna due the circumstances under which he had to live without no one's support unlike Arjuna who was most favroute of Dron and Lord Krishna.
    11. Abhimanyu
    12. Ashwashthama: he is one character who suffered without grave misdeeds. Lord Krishna on ne hand declared that every thing is fair in war with Kauravas. Killing of Dhorna by cheating, Killing of Karna knowingly that he is elder brother of Pandavas and that also at the time when he was without arms. and killing of Duryadhana.

    Thanks & Regards

  35. Dear Prahlad
Sorry for a delayed reply, you are correct there is a certain amount of exaggeration in Mahabharata by Sri Vyasa. He had valid reason to do so as he had to give a correct message to society. C. Rajagopalachari the great Sanskrit scholar also has made this observation. But at the same time please realize that every warrior however great he may be will face defeat because of various factors like unfavorable circumstances, lack of aggression etc. Arjuna did not face these circumstances as his rosy journey as a warrior was protected by Sri Krishna and he was surrounded by right people to guide him. Karna although was as great as Arjuna he did not have the alliance of Sri Krishna. About Karna Bhagwaan Krishna said the Karna with all his senses intact and weapon in hand is invincible. See the all knowing Prabhu is not saying Karna is completely invincible. Yes in the film Gadar Sunny Deol with his dhai kilo ka haath was unbeatable so was Rajnikant in Robot. But this happens only on the silver screen not in real life. Karna and other warriors were heroes in real life.
    Best wishes

God did not say Karna is superior to Arjuna.. He said might be egual

  39. Reasons Why Arjuna is better warrior than Karna:
    1) Karna tried to imprison Drupada with help of Kauravas and their army but he retreated. Where as Arjuna defeated and brought Drupada before Drona

    2) Karna was defeated by Arjuna during Draupadi swayamvar.

    3) Karna was defeated by Gandharvas and ran away from battlefield leaving Duryodhana to Gandharvas. He was not drunk at that time. Arjuna defeated Gandharvas and released Duryodhana from their hands

    4) Arjuna single handedly defeated Bhishma,Drona, Karna etc in virata yudh and spared their lives

    5) In Mahabharata in one instance Arjuna shot an asthra that would kill Karna But Aswathama saves Karna with his counter asthra.

    6) Karna relied on shakthi weapon to kill Arjuna. But Arjuna relied on his prowess and strength.

    7) Karna was defeated by Bhima many times and ran away from battlefield. Once Karna won against Bhima by hiding in his chariot.

    8) Arjuna did not use pasupathathra against Karna. Pasupathasthra would have destroyed complete kaurava army in single day.

    9) Arjuna defeated Lord Indra at khandava vanam.

    10) Karna was defeated 2 times by Ahimanyu and ran away from battlefield. It was Karna who asks Drona how to kill Abhimanyu with deceit.

    1. I like to tell you that
According to wikipedia(best source of knowledge without bias as wiki.is universal not from India
which will take side of anyone)
1)virat war is later Interpolation to create good image of partha which undergone as cheater in kurukshetra war.
Also if virat war is true
Why is need of lord krishna and cheating to kill bhishma, karna, drona, bhagdatta
As in virat war partha win over above worriors in half day.
Also if virat war is true not accepted by wiki.Jambul akhyan also rejected by Wiki.in which sexy draupadi express her love about karna.mean if u want virat war u have to accept jambul akhyan but Both are false.
2)gandharva war no karna is present at that time acc.to wiki
3)in drupad war it is gurudakshina to dron,as karna is shishya of god parshurama(god vishnu himself) not of cruel egostic which do castism to eklavya and karna both which is dron.
      4) all we know that partha was saved by keshav from bhagdattas vaishnavastra.then after parta can win on him
Keshav ordered to him to cut rope which adheres eyebrows of oldest bhagadatta who become andha so partha kill him by a simple arrow.
This vaishnavaastra has defence is Bramandastra which drona didnt give to partha as dron cosider him no eligible for that.
So dronacharya award giveb by Indian government is also wrong
As dron-arjuna is not greatest guru-shishya.but lord parashurama and karna are beat guru-shishy.as he gives him his own bow Vijay of lord shiva & also gives Bhargavastra of his own power which are not gave to great bhisma (equal to lord) and cheater drona.
But dont give bramandastra to partha but lord parashuram gave it to karna so lord itself is best guru and karna it sllelf best sjishya as karnas great gurubhakti as one insect cut his thigh but he didnt disturb his guru.
      5) karna dedeat bhagdatta at digwijay yatra but partha could nt in rajsuy yagya acc.to wiki.
Karna is best in mahabharata with bhisma except lords.at rajsuya partha fight with 8days but bhagadatta not loose, bhagadatta didnt use vaishnavastra as he is best friend of pandu.so he make piece with partha
Bur karna at digvigjaya defeat bhagadatta as he had bramadastra which can defend vaishnava, pashupata, brahmasta, brahmashirastra.
      6) karna has vijaya (lord shivas divine bow) can repel pashupata but cant vaishnava.
As karna get this bow means he is eligible for this.nor bhishma, drona also.
At that time partha had Gandiva (divine bow of brahma)but cant defend from any astra.
6)also karna almost kill partha by nagastra which partha didnt had also he didnt have defence garudastra, but saved by lord vasudeva.
7)also when karnas chariot wheel sunk he come down requested partha to stop some moments but lord ordered partha to attak so karna used rudrastra which left partha to loose his gandiva 1st time in Mahabharata and left him unconscious as partha has shiva kavacha if he didnt have shiva kavach He had get killed.
And then karna goes to lift wheel
As karna never kill a warrior without astra after that partha get up and wield bow after that karnq realize that as karnas face is not towards partha so karna try to invoke bramadastra for defence which he didnt remember.so partha shot him.
8)in draupadi sawayavar when partha win her all kinga attak on partha, but karna didnt as partha is in brahmana clothes ,but duryodhana also attak partha so karna also challeng him.they fought.and karna get news his 9 year old son tend to death as arrow shot by partha injured son when partha fight with other kings,so karna left that place and goes to his son, afterwards he get to knew that
Son was killed by partha so he takes oath to kill him.
Concludes that east or west karna is best.(except lords major)

  40. Arjuna obviously was defeated buy Shiva. Shiva would also defeat Bhima, Karna, Jarasandh etc... Arjuna was strong as he easliy lifted the bow for his marriage which even Duryodhan could not lift.
He did not get a chance for wrestling. He defeated Karna in Virat war. Karna and 100 Kauravas coul not defeat Drupad's army inspite of having Kavach Kundal that time. But Arjuna defeated Drupads army only with 4 brithers and without Lord Krishna. Arjuna is more powerful than Karna in this case.

Vaali was too stronger than Ravana. Remember your rankings are not so correct because the Ramayan warriors are far more powerful than Mahabharat one's.

  42. Karna with his Kavach Kundal and 100 kauravas and Hastinapurs army could not defeat Drupads army. But Arjuna only with 4 brothers and without Lord Krishna defeated Drupads army. Karna was defeated by the Gandharvas too. He ran way from there to save his life inspite of being accompanied by Duyodhan Dushasan and soldiers. But Arjuna only with Bhima defeated the Gandharvas. 44. What blasphemy??? Karna is no God. Karna lost against Drupad inspite of being accompanied with 100 Kauravas and Hastinapur's army. Karna had his Kavach Kundal that time. But Arjuna defeated Drupad and his army being accompanied with only 4 brothers. Arjuna broke Karna's bow after the melee that followed Draupadi's swayamwar.
Karna also lost the war with the Gandharvas. He infact ran away from there to save his life. He was accompanied with Duryodhan, Dushasan and their army. But Arjuna only with Bhima defeated the Gandharvas successfully. Arjuna defeated Karna twice in the Virat war also against with Bheesma, Drona, Ashwatthama, Kripa, Duryo and Dushasan. KArna lost several times in Kurukshetra by Arjuna, Abhimanyu, and Bhima.

  45. Kauravas too suffered huge losses. Why does Karna have to rely on deceit and divyastras if he is so powerful??? Why did he run away in the war with the Gandharvas???? Arjuna and Abhimanyu have defeated large no. of soldiers and armies single handedly.

  48. Vaali too learned a lot of war fare, martial arts and weaponry. Vaali acqiured boons due to hard penances. Apart from the boon, he was too strong in his way which was way behind Ravana

  49. Vaali was awesome. He reduced Ravana to a pile and dragged him on his tail for months. He would play with mountain peaks and boulders by tossing them. He is the most invincible. All say that who else could do what Hanuman did in Lanka??? I say that even Vaali would have don all of that, isnt it???
Rama had to hide to kill him as no one could face him front facing.
He could pull mighty forest trees as of they were a grass. He would even take the entire oceans water in his palm and leap from the west coast to the east coast. Even I like Vaali very much.

In the end during his demise, Rama granted him Moksha. He is now one with God.

  50. Hi Niraj
From all the different versions of Mahabharat what is always the same is that Lord Krishna tried to convince Karna to join the Pandavas just before the war. After Krishna failed he asked Kunti to ask Karna to join the Pandavas in order to demoralise him.

That shows that Lord Krishna the greatest strategic/tactician considered Karna to be a serious threat to Arjuna and the rest of the Pandavas.

Also I beleive that nobody in the Mahabharat war took part in treachury/deceipt. It was brilliant strategy/tactics which got misinterpreted as deceipt by the same type of idiots who advised Prithviraj Chauhan lower his guard and let the enemy go.

    What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I also beleive that Arjuna's fighting during the Virat war and Abhimanyu's fighting in the Chakravyuh have been extremely exagerated with the context of the Mahabharat itself.

Think about if Arjuna and Abhimanyu are that powerful then why the need for the Pandavas to call their allies for help and rely on Dhristadyumna to be the commander?

Also if they were so powerful then why did the Pandava army suffer such a huge loss? Most of their army was destroyed before Ashwathama set fire to their camp at night.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks Prakash. Think about it, after the Ramayan war Indians would still have been able to defend their country/colonies as they were united through Ayodhya (North India), Kishkindha (South India), Lanka (Soth east Asia), Pataldesh (America/Australia??) and tribals because of the alliance between Lord Rama, Sugreev, Vibhishan, Magardhvaj and Guha. Also Lord Rama and his army didn't kill millions of soldiers unnecessarilly so there would have been soldiers left to guard/defend their country/property.

Now compare the situation after the Mahabharat war, Indians were undivided as the Pandavas had to go on another conquest journey to consolidate their power, plus the tribals didn't get along with them as they kidnapped Krishna's family and assasinated Parikshit. On top of that there were no soldiers left to defend the women or country as the Pandavas and Kauravas killed everyone indiscrementely.

Imagine if a foreign country decided to invade India?

  53. The question whether Arjuna is great or Karna is great remain unanswered. But in all respect Karna was more noble than ARjuna. he had more qualities. Plus he was a abandoned child throught his life he fought for his identity and he was humilated by non other than his own brothers and mostly by Arjuna. Actually except Yudhisthir, all other Pandavas were arrogant and desperate ony for their rights. Withut Krishna's help Pandavas were not invincible.

    ReplyDelete
  54. How come yaar??? If Karna was so good, why did he side evil company??? Why did he not stop Duryodhan from burning the Pandavas in the wax palace??? Why did he give the idea to disrobe Draupadi front of everyone???

Why did he support the game of dice??? Why did he accompany Duryodhan to make a mockery of Pandavas while they were in exile??? Why did he not have respect towards the old aged acharyas???

Pandavas were invicible without Krishna. They defeated Drupad's army without Krishna's assistance. While Karna could not do this inspite of having 100 Kauravas, Hastinapur's army and his Kavach Kundal. Karna could not save Duryodhan from the Gandharvas but ran away to save himself. But Arjuna without Krishna's presence defeated the Gandharvas and saved Duryodhan.
Karna depended too much on divine weapons but not Arjuna.

  55. Arjuna did not need divyastras. How come yaar ? He did a pooja to propriate Lord Shiva and went right to Indraloka to get astras. What for ? a kabaddi match ? Every body does efforts for getting divyastras. Lord Ram also underwent training under Vishwamitra. Aur Karna kare to saala character dheela hai.
Coming to the Karna Arjuna superiority debate I think below stanza says it all. Here for the first and the last time in his life Sri Krishna agreed with Duryodhana. Phrases from mahabharata. “‘Duryodhana said, “I have studied, made presents according to the ordinance, governed the wide Earth with her seas, and stood over the heads of my foes! Who is there so fortunate as myself! That end again which is courted by Kshatriyas observant of the duties of their own order, death in battle, hath become mine. Who, therefore, is so fortunate as myself? I am going to heaven, O thou of unfading glory! As regards yourselves, with your purposes unachieved and torn by grief, live ye in this unhappy world!”‘
“Sanjaya continued, ‘Upon the conclusion of these words of the intelligent king of the Kurus, a thick shower of fragrant flowers fell from the sky. The Gandharvas played upon many charming musical instruments. The Apsaras in a chorus sang the glory of king Duryodhana. The Siddhas uttered loud sound to the effect, “Praise be to king Duryodhana!” Beholding these exceedingly wonderful things and this worship offered to Duryodhana, the Pandavas headed by Vasudeva became ashamed. Hearing (invisible beings cry out) that Bhishma and Drona and Karna and Bhurishrava were slain unrighteously, they became afflicted with grief and wept in sorrow. Beholding the Pandavas filled with anxiety and grief, Krishna addressed them in a voice deep as that of the clouds or the drum, saying, “All of them were great car-warriors and exceedingly quick in the use of weapons! If ye had put forth all your prowess, even then ye could never have slain them in battle by fighting fairly! King Duryodhana also could never be slain in a fair encounter! The same is the case with all those mighty car-warriors headed by Bhishma! From desire of doing good to you, I repeatedly applied my powers of illusion and caused them to be slain by diverse means in battle. If I had not adopted such deceitful ways in battle, victory would never have been yours, nor kingdom, nor wealth! Those four (Bhishma and Drona and Karna and Bhurishrava )
were very high-souled warriors and regarded as Atirathas in the world. The very Regents of the Earth could not slay them in fair fight! ( Here Bhagwaan himself has declared Karna as Arjunas equal )
Similarly, the son of Dhritarashtra, though fatigued when armed with the mace, could not be slain in fair fight by Yama himself armed with his bludgeon! (here sri krishna declares duryodhana better than bhima ).
When you try to prove Karna inferior your thought process is as follows. See Sri Krishna could not acknowledge Karna as inferior I will try to prove him inferior. I will succeed where Sri krishna failed. This is vipreet gyana.

  56. Bowing at the feet of Bhagwaan Parshurama I qoute Karna firing the Bhargava astra. ” the mighty Karna of immeasurable soul fixed on his bow-string the weapon known by the name of Bhargava. From that weapon flowed, O king, millions and millions of keen arrows in that great battle. Entirely shrouded with those blazing and terrible arrows winged with feathers of Kankas and peacocks, the Pandava army could not see anything. Loud wails of woe arose from among the Pancalas, O king, afflicted, in that battle, with the mighty Bhargava weapon. In consequence then of elephants, O king, and steeds, by thousands, and cars, O monarch, and men, falling on all sides, deprived of life, the Earth began to tremble. The vast force of the Pandavas became agitated from one extremity to another. Meanwhile Karna, that scorcher of foes, that foremost of warriors, that tiger among men, while consuming his foes, looked resplendent like a smokeless fire. Thus slaughtered by Karna, the Pancalas and the Cedis began to lose their senses all over the field like elephants during the conflagration in a forest. Those foremost of men, O tiger among men, uttered loud roars like those of the tiger. Loud became the wails of woe, like those of living creatures at the universal dissolution that were uttered by those crying combatants struck with panic and running wildly on all sides, O king, of the field of battle and trembling with fear. Beholding them thus slaughtered, O sire, by the Suta’s son, all creatures, even beasts and birds, were filled with fear. The Srinjayas then, thus slaughtered in battle by the Suta’s son, repeatedly called upon Arjuna and Vasudeva like the spirits of the dead within Yama’s dominions calling upon Yama to rescue them.
(Above statement shows that Arjuna is being called for help by people killed by Karna )
Hearing those wails of the troops slaughtered with Karna’s shafts, and beholding the terrible bhargava weapon invoked into existence Kunti’s son Dhananjaya said unto Vasudeva these words, “Behold, O Krishna of mighty arms, the prowess of the bhargava weapon! It cannot, by any means, be baffled! ( Here Arjuna admits his incapability to nullify Karnas Bhargava astra ) Behold the Suta’s son also, O Krishna, filled with rage in this great battle and resembling the Destroyer himself, in prowess and employed in achieving such a fierce feat! Urging his steeds incessantly, he is repeatedly casting angry glances upon me! I will never be able to fly away from Karna in battle! The person that is living, may, in battle, meet with either victory or defeat. To the man, however, that is dead, O Hrishikesha, even death is victory. How can defeat be his that is dead?” Thus addressed by Partha, Krishna replied unto that foremost of intelligent men and chastiser of foes, these words that were suitable to the occasion, “The royal son of Kunti hath been deeply wounded and mangled by Karna. Having seen him first and comforted him, thou wilt then, O Partha, slay Karna?” Then Keshava proceeded, desirous of beholding Yudhishthira, thinking that Karna meanwhile, O monarch, would be overwhelmed with fatigue! ( Here its clear that Krishna also considers Karna a formidable opponent and an equal warrior to Arjuna and Bhargava astra the supreme weapon )

  58. Mr. Vamsi I have given proofs of Sri Krishna sanctioning Karna as an equal to Arjuna in from moola mahabharata. You have presented a series of discussions in a blog that too with stupid title make money online. If this was an attempt to amuse me then I congratulate you. I was undergoing some depression before reading your post because of personal reasons now I have overcome it as I am doubling up with laughter.

  60. I have already proved the Pandavas superiority. Except for Bhishma, the rest of the Kaurava warriors, always had to depend on deceit or hiding in other's chariot. Note that Duryodhan was unable to defeat Drupad's army and Gandharvas inspite of being heavily accompanied. But Bhima was successful in both the times with only his brothers. No question of Yama.

And Arjuna never used those divyastras in the war for the world's safety. But his main opponent depended on them. Kindly note this.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Jai Sri Krishna. Deceit is something which both the sides have done. Being a responsible warrior its possible that Arjuna refrained from using divine weapons but Don’t forget that he has used divine weapons on unarmed warriors. Karna was killed by anjalika and Jayadratha was also killed by a divine weapon. You say worlds safety ? When Ashwatthama fired his brahmastra on Arjuna. Arjuna too fired his brahmastra. Where was world safety then ? When faced by a superpowered divine weapon Arjuna was more than capable to fire its counter attack. Arjuna may not have shown a high dependence on weapons because his rosy journey as a warrior was protected by Krishna. Karna did not have that facility.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Offcourse. Arjuna had to counter react Ashwatthama's Brahmastra.. How could Arjuna stand still and wait for the weapon to attack him and die. Is it not Arjuna's right to defend himself???

Brahmastra is the most powerful weapon than any other which if fired at anyone , he can defend himself only when he too fires a Brahmastra. And it was Krishna who told Arjuna to do that. It was not Arjuna's decision.

ANd Arjuna did not spend his entire military days with Krishna. He was at arms training even before he met Krishna. He ainly protected himself with his own strength.

If still any queries or want to prove anything wrong, you are most welcome. Pls go ahead and I;ll answer them

  63. Mr. Gaurav Kotian.
Your statement “ Offcourse. Arjuna had to counter react Ashwatthama’s Brahmastra.. How could Arjuna stand still and wait for the weapon to attack him and die. Is it not Arjuna’s right to defend himself???” That’s precisely my point. When it came to defending himself like everyone else Arjuna also fired divyastras. Still he had no answer to bhargava astra fired by karna. Your statement “And it was Krishna who told Arjuna to do that. It was not Arjuna’s decision. “ That’s precisely my point. Sri Krishna was all knowing when he knew that Arjuna has a counter divyastra he will instruct Arjuna immediately to launch a counter attack. But when Arjuna did not have an answer ie Vaishnava astra of Bhagdatta or Bhargava astra of Karna Lord Krishna either protected Arjuna or lured him away to safety as my postings have shown. If still any queries or want to prove anything wrong, you are most welcome. Pls go ahead and I;ll answer them.

  64. Of Vaishnava astra by Bhagdatta, I agree that Krishna saved Arjuna's life. But here too Bhagdatta has used the divine weapon which Arjuna usually forbids. Why dosen't Bhagdatta use his own strength like Arjuna???
I don't know of the Bhargava astra by Karna but here too Karna is using divine weapons as usual unlike Arjuna who uses his own strength of arms and skills.

In the war there was a day where Arjuna would have killed Karna much earlier(unlike the 16th day). Arjuna was about to kill Karna but Ashwatthama came there at time and rescued him. Arjuna shot arrows but only for the Dronaputra's timely intervention without which Karna's death was sure.

  66. First of all don't bring the warriors of Ramayana yug into Contention.
When Bhimsen the most strongest man of Mahabharata without any close rival fail to move the tail of Lord Hanuman an inch so you can just imagine the might of Kumbhakarna, Angad ,Sugriva and Jaamvawant.

And Meghnaad was say combination of both Arjun and Ghatokacha. He was a great archer and a master illusionist .And if Ghatokacha can do so much destruction with his illusion so it can imagined What Meghnaad could do, he can finished the war in few days if there is no interference from Lord Krishna.

Regarding Bali , Lord Hanuman could have defeated the Bali on its own but the Lord didn't for two reason.

(1)He had forgot all his divine strength
    (2) It was not Lord Hanuman fate to kill Bali, it was his Lord destiny to kill Bali.
If Hanuman would have killed Bali, Sugriva would have never realised the power of Lord Ram and would have never accompany him for the war. Not that the Lord needed any help but the Almighty was born an human so he can't crossed his Maryada.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Regarding Karna , he was at par with Arjuna and no less.

And he had to die for betterment of human kind.
Thats what Mahabharata teaches us even if you are very powerful ,if you are siding Adharma you have to fail.

From Arjuna's life we can learn about devotion. Complete trust on Lord. He never questioned the Lord neighter defied his wish. Only time he did that, The result Geeta was before us.

So what Arjuna did directly or indirectly benifitted human kind.
And his fear and hesitation was valid since only the Pandavs ,Satyaki and Lord Krishna from Pandava side and Kripacharya, Ashwatthama and Kritvarma from Kauravas out of million of warriors survived.

And from Karna we can learn the limits of everything.
    Daandharm, repaying to friendship etc.

Why Karna was equalled to Arjuna
    (1) He alone conquered the vast army of Rukmi,Salva,Sishupal and defeated Jarashandha.
    (2) He alone defeated the vast army of panchalas and Virat at Kurukshetra war
(3)He defeated Satyaki who equalled to Ashwatthama in warfare numerous times.
(4)He defeated the Mighty Bhima numerous time from day 15 to day 17 without using Brahmastra,Bhargavastra ,Nagastra,Shakti weapon etc on his own prowess.
    (5) When Karna challenged Satyaki after Killing of Jayadrath to a fight till death without any outsider interference of any warriors.
Lord Krishna called for his personal chariot to help Satyaki eventhough Satyaki was a great warrior closed to Arjuna. Since Lord Krishna knew the power of Karna. And thereafter satyaki defeated Karna and left him alive by saying he was kill of Arjuna.
(6)Ashwatthama himself recommended the Name of Karna to be Generelsimo of Kaurava army .And this point is further supported when Karna faced Ghatokacha and Warriors like Dronacharya, Kripacharya, Ashwatthama and Kritvarma did very less.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Let me first inform you that Bhima was not the strongest guy in Mahabharat as you said. It was Balarama. Front of him Bhima's strength was just nothing.

And regarding Bhima unable to move Hanuman's tail even an inch. How can you say that "just imagine the might of Kumbhakarna, Angad ,Sugriva and Jaamvawant." Hanuman's strength was far more than them. Off course Bhima would not be able to move even their tail or finger.

Also who told you that Meghnad was a combination of Arjuna and Ghatotkach??? There is no such written proof. Meghnad was extremely powerful. He could have killed all the Kauravas, even Arjuna, Bhishma, Drona in a single moment. No Mahabharat hero can ever match him. HE is one of the best warrior and sorcerer ever to be born on earth!!!

I don't know whether Hanuman could have defeated Bali??? That's because:

HAnuman leaped form southern tip of India to the Sri LAnkan coast and got lot of applauds from that day till now.
While Bali would did something greater. He would leap form the western sea to the eastern sea and from the southern sea to the Himalayas for his daily prayers before sunrise and never get tired.

During one such day Ravana was tied to Bali's tail. Bali did all his above mentioned prayers and never noticed that Ravana who once lifted Kailash mountain was hanging from his tail. He reached his home at Kishkindha and entered his rooms and noticed only after Ravana loudly screamed that he is stuck in his tail.
Even Hanuman was unable to defeat Ravana when they both were engaged in a fight. You can imagine what Bali's blow would have done to Ravana.

Hanuman lifted the mountain but Bali would split mountain peaks with his bare hands. He would even lift mighty mountains to increase his strength further.

Bali even single handedly churned the ocean during samudra manthan sending the Devas to the Asura's side. He alone at the other end churned in such a way that the Mandharachal mountain fell towards him and the sea was frightened.

Hanuman off course forgot his strength that time. But with Bali's such strength it is difficult to say who among them would win.

  69. Regarding all what you have said of Karna is true. What I say that these same ftas were also possible by Arjun and Abhimnayu. They too would have done it.

But Karna was defetaed in the Virat war by Arjuna who was all alone.

Karna also lost his first war against Drupad.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well said, Mr kotian .
When i said Meghnaad was combination of Arjun and Ghatokacha , i meant to say that Meghnaad possesses the traits of both of them.
I will give you an instance, Ghatokacha was a expert illusionist only next to Lord Krishna. But he was not that great in warfare since he was defeated many times by Ashwatthama ,Bhaggdatta but the same Ghatokacha couldn't be handled by anybody in the night except Karna.

Similarly Bhimsen who defeated Alambusa and Alayudha with ease, was almost killed by them that night, when Arjun and Satyaki came to his rescue. Thats how powerful is the power of illusion at Night.
But they were not that much stronger in Day time.

But Meghnaad was very destructable in both day and Night fight. And he possesses Pasupatastra, Narayanastra and Brahmastra. So he was a complete warrior . As per as i know i read somewhere that he was a Atimaharathi i.e he can faced number of Maharathis at the same time.

  71. About Bali and Ravana intances.
Bali saw Ravana coming from behind in reflection of the River.

Ravana was a never winner in strongman contest. Before Bali, he was humilliated and Inprisoned by Kartiveerya Arjun. He was even not as strong as his brother kumbhkarna. Kumbhkarna also used to play with mountains.
So Bali defeating Ravana was like Arjun getting defeated by Bhimsen in wrestling.
But that doesn't make them Bali or Bhima more powerful than Ravana or Arjuna respectively. Becs Ravana was not all about physical strength.
When i said Bhima was the most strongest man i meant ,that since i wouldn't dare to compare Lord Balram with anyone so he never was in my list.

Coming back to the point , everytime Ravana faced defeat he became more powerful by doing severe penance.
Ravana was never afraid of Bali, becs how much Bali tries Ravana couldn't be killed by him. He can only be killed by Human and Bali wasn't an Human. Even if he gave his mightiest blow ,he could make Ravana unconsious but can't killed him.

But the Ravana that was defeated by Bali and Kartiveerya was not the same Ravana that faced Lord Ram. Ravana knew all the astras by that time and have become very powerful. He couldhave have decimated the entire Kiskindha kingdom with his sons that include Meghnaad and Kumbhkarna. But he didn't Becs he seriously established good relation with Bali and his family.

About Bali killing controversy.there is no controvery regarding this. The case is clearcut. when Lord Ram can killed Bali with a single arrow,he could have done the same by facing him fairly. But why he didn't do that.
(1)Becs Bali was also a bhakt of Lord Ram if he would have saw Lord Ram,he could have approached him for help. And Lord Ram would have in a dilema becs Lord Ram had already promised Sugriva to make him King.
    (2) By killing Bali by hiding, he said that anyone who abducts his brothers wife and keep them in confinement forcefully, one who banished his younger brother is worsed than a Heinous Animal. And such animal should be hunted and doesn't deserved glory death of a warrior.

And don't forget a two year old Lord Hanuman went thousand miles to eat the sun.

  72. The warriors from the Ramayan are much more better than the warriors from Mahabharat as they used their brains as well as brawn.

The Ramayan warriors especially lord Ram demonstrated something which no Mahabharat warrior ever managed to do - the ability to manage own resources efficiently.

The Ramayan warriors were like the great military generals like Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh, Chandragupt Maurya who were able to manage and expand their resources after each fight.

The Mahabharat warriors were like Prithviraj Chauhan - good at hand to hand fighting but rubbish at strategy and managing resources.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Mr Niraj, you were 100% correct. I should have never spent my time debating with Mr Chiran.
Actually you said debating with him is like wrestling with the Incredible Hulk you were cent percent true.
He is very cunning. He and his band of clowns are just attention seekers.
His intention are not praiseworthy. He edits anything that would make him uncomfortable in the debate.
WHY ANYBODY WHO IS THINKING OF GAINING KNOWLEDGE AND DISCUSSION WITH HIM SHOULD AVOID.
    (1) Mr.Chiraan considers Almighty Shiva who is even prayed by Lord Vishnu.Upon whose Name Lord Krishna, Lord Balram ,Lord Hanuman bows with respect is terrified by the name of Bhima.
He considers Lord Shiva to be useless before Bhima.
Now clarify my doubts about Bhima.
    (1) Where was Bhima's strength when he tried to lift Lord Hanuman tail?
(2)Where was Bhima's knowledge when encouraged his 16 year nephew to Break the Chakravyouh?
Why could he not break the chakravyouh?
    (3) where was his strength when he defied the command of Lord Krishna and went to fight with Narayanastra only to be rescued by Lord Himself?
    (4) Where was his strength when he was left in a swoon by Ashwatthama , Alayudha , Alambusa and Bhaggdatta on seperate occassion.
(5)where was invincibility when his eldest Brother Karna left him with Bruishes and wounds on day 17th. And kept on defeating him when he was the general.
Ofcourse He had his fair share of win over Karna. But i never said Karna was invincible and can't be defeated. It was you Mr Chiran who is beating the drum and trumpet for ages about Bhima's invincibility and Chastising Karna's credential.

  74. Thats because as the Yugas travel, the Satya Yuga is superior than its follwers, Kali Yuga being the worst. Ramayana took place in Treta Yuga which is better than Mahabharat of Dwapar Yuga. People of Satya Yuga had more strength, longevity, physical and mental strength, capacity to perform tapasya. Also, times and conditions were more beteer in regards to divine powers, astras, msticism, divine wealth and knowledge. But as Satya Yuga gets over Treta follows which is less poweful.
And Dwapar Yuga gets little more worse than Treta Yuga. Kali Yuga is the worst where there are no divine beings on earth, no tapasya, divyastras, longevity, strength, etc.... Physical height of people also shortens as the Yugas advance.

Thats the reason Ramayan warriors of Treta Yuga are more powerful than warriors of MB of Dwapar yuga.

  75. You said that Ravana could be killed only by a human is a bit incompelete. Ravana asked from Brahma a boon that he should not be killed by any being but he forgot to mention humans and vanaras. Vanaras are monkeys. So Ravana could be killed by Hanuman and Bali too. Bali had a boon that he would gain half his opponents strength. So if Ravana and his sons come to attack Kishkindha, Bali would use all his might and render them away.

And who told you that Bali was a Ram bhakth???
Bali was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and Lord Surya.

Rama hid behind the tree to kill him because Bali had a boon that no one could fight him front facing. Also his opponents would lose half his strength to Bali.

Also in my previous article I have mentioned of Bali's strength in detail

  76. Sorry buddy not true.

Mahabharata warriors would also lose to every succesfull general in the kaliyuga such as Chandragupta Maurya, Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh, Ackbar, Alexander, Genghis Khan, George Zhukov, Attila the Hun, William the Conqueror, Hitler, Hannibal Barca, Napolean, Caesar, Cyrus, etc.

Every succesfull general in history knows strategy and can manage resources.

Nobody in the Mahabharata can do that, they considered strategy as treachery and couldn't manage resources, the Pandavas didn't even win - they barely survived the war as everyone in their army was killed.

In the end there were no soldiers left to even defend Arjuna and Krishna's family members from being robbed/kidnapped. Because Arjuna and the Pandavas WASTED ALL THEIR RESOURCES during Rajasuya, Mahabhrata war, Ashwamedh and every other fight in between.

The only person from the epics who can be considered to be a successful general is Lord Rama. He won without wasting resources.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Sorry but your facts are impossible. I have already stated earlier. Kaliygas warriors whom you have mentioned are far more behind the mythical heroes. Who are Shivaji, Hitler, Genghis??? They are nothing but puppets.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm sorry my facts are not impossible. YOUR so called facts are. Pick up any military history book for information on the generals I listed. They not only won against REAL opponents but went on to increase their power/position.

Genghis Khan conquered almost all of Asia and parts of Europe from nothing. Shivaji defeated the Moghuls with a small army and establishd the Maratha kingdom. Hitler conquered most of Europe.

On the other hand the mythical heroes from Mahabharata (if they are even real) got constantly upstaged by ordinary tribals (according to several scholars the authors then turned the tribals into divine beings to make the heroes look good)

    a) Chitrangadha the step brother of Bheeshma got killed by Gandharva tribals.
    b) Kauravas got beaten/taken prisoner by Gandharva tribals.
    c) During Mahabharata war on 18th, tribals/hunters FORCED their way into Pandava camp to give news of Duryodhana's whereabouts to Bhima.
    d) Tribals/robbers defeated/robbed Arjuna and Krishna's grandson then kidnapped the women.
    e) Naga tribals assasinated Pariksheet.

If ordinary tribals/robbers could do this then someone like Genghis Khan would have easily conquered all of India from the Pandavas and Kauravas.

And as I said earlier the Pandavas and Kauravas didn't even understand the concept of military strategy as they thought it was treachery. They couldn't even manange resources as all their soldiers were killed. All they could do was hand to hand fighting.

  82. Here i don't want to proove Karna's superiority or Arjuna's inferiority.
But here i have to differ with Mr Kotian in some points.
Here in order to show Karna's dark side he did some elementary mistakes.
(1)First you told that Karna donated his Kavach and Kundal only to get Vasava Shakti. Now you are ridiculing the intelligence of King of Gods Lord Indra. For the safety of his child and humanity he went to Karna .
It was not Karna who went for exchange to Lord Indra. Thats a very important thing.
Karna only asked for Vasava shakti after Lord Indra asked him to do that. Whether he is better than Arjuna thats debatable but
You should never questioned the Intregrity of Karna. When Lord Krishna never did,When Lord Indra never did we should never questioned his intention.
    (2) His defeat in the hand of Drupad is debatable. There is no consensus in this. Why you will asked me.
Becs when Bhisma , Dronacharya and Kripacharya were enumerating the losses of Karna before Duryodhana to discourage him from the war. They only mentioned the Virat and Ghandharv incidence. But they never mentioned the Drupad issue.
Again this point is further supported when Single Karna can defeat the entire Panchalas how Karna who is supported by entire Kaurav troops can loose to Drupad when even Dhristadyuma was not born.
And Remember it was a Guru dakshina for students and Karna was not a student of Dronacharya.

    ReplyDelete
  83. You have everyright to love Arjuna and hate Karna. But you should hate the person where he is flawed. Karna like everyhuman had done sin in lifeterm which he repents deeply. And again i want to tell you that you are misunderstanding the character of Karna.
You said that Karna and co lost to Arjuna in Virat without the presence of Lord Krishna. God is everywhere.
    (2) And you said Arjuna would have killed Karna if he was not saved by Ashwatthama. If it was so it would have brought disgrace to Arjuna. Becs Karna was Busy verbally assaulting Bhima after defeating him and Arjuna in anger shot the arrow from behind. There is no braveness in that.

    (3) Karna you said would have killed Arjuna if Arjuna's was also trapped. Karna never was such person. Karna after making Arjuna unconsious didn't killed him even after Lord Krishna rebuked him and warned him to kill him unfairly.
But he said These words even i have to fight 1000 Arjuna i will never resort to unfairmeans.

And Duryodhan also said after when he was about to die To Lord Krishna that we all will go to heaven since we never violate the code of war. And Lord also agreed to that.

This should give you the answer that Abhimanyu death was overhyped .

  86. Who is this Mr Chiran????

    ReplyDelete
  87. Your comments may be true but times and conditions of mythical wars vary a lot form these modern ones. Parikshit was killed by a snake and not tribals as you said. If Genghis Khan conquered a large area, Karna conquered a large part of India, Middle east regions, Cambodia, and many regions on the eastern part of the world. He defeated many powerful Mlecchas( Non Hindu/Vedic people), tribal armies, Gandharas, Kalingas, Khasas, Madrakas, Trigartas, Tanganas, Kulindas, Kambojas, Ambasthas and the Kaikeyas and had collected tribute from them for Duryodhana.

Sahadev defeated the vanaras of Kishkinda alone. Bhima alone defeated the Mlecchas in the west coast of India. Ravana's kingdom extended till Africa. He defeated even Indra. DEmons have conquered earth, heaven and Patala.

Bhishma was a feared warrior across the world. No one dared challenge him when Amba asked them to fight him.

On the 18th day, no tribals forced in the Pandava camp as you said. The Pandavas themselves entered the tribal area to search Duryodhan.

Kauravas were taken prisoner not from Gandharva tribals as you said. That's a fabricated story. Gandharva reside in Indra's heaven. They used divine astras to render the Kauravas.

Pandavas getting defeated might be as tribals have a habit of attacking secretly or unnoticed. Things would be different if they came ready and face to face with the Pandavas. Else who in the world can ever stand front of the Pandavas?????

Those modern heroes whom you mentioned are not as stronger as they too did what Hitler, Alexander etc....

    ReplyDelete
  88. First of all let me tell you that I dont hate Karna. But I dont like him either.

Yes its a good thing that Karna did repent for his wrongs.
You say God is everywhere. There is lot of difference between that and Krishna personally coming as a charioteer.

Karna was a party of unfairly attacking Abhimanyu. During that day, he attacked Abhimanyu from behind. What sort of heroism is that??? He was in fact badly defeated by Abhimanyu. There is difference from what makes a hero and attacking from behind. Here Karna asks Drona as how to defeat Abhimanyu deceitfully.
So thats my answer that there is no guarantee that Karna would not do this to his sworn enemy Arjuna.
Karna once defeated Bhima by hiding behind a chariot. Karna was unable to save the Kauravas from Bhima's arrows while he was given the authority to guard them

And where did Duryodhan not violate the code of war. He too was a party in killing Abhimanyu deceitfully. Like him the Pandavas too entered heaven.

  90. Karna did give his kavach kundal. But he was informed about htis by his father Surya in a dream that Indra would deceitfully come and ask him of those belongings. Surya tells him that when Indra tells you to ask for a boon, ask for his Shakti. Everyone knew that Shakit was so invincible that no other weapon could ever counter it. It was inescapable and destructible to the enemy. So if his enmity was with Arjuna it was obvious that he would ask for the Shakti which would be gained only by donating his kavach kundal to the disguised Brahmin whom he knew ti was Indra. And there is no question that no one ever questioned about his integrity or charitable nature. Any one can raise questions after knowing this fact.

So what that the acharyas didnt question of Karna getting defeated by the Panchalas??? There comes no question neither any meaning in this. The acharyas had nothing to do with this incident. This war took place very long ago and that too at a time when they didnt even meet Karna. So why the question??????

And why did you raise the question of Dhrishtadyumna???? What has he got to do with all this????

  99. Mr. Kotian. As usual you missed the point. Well wishers of Arjuna too acknowledged Karna as a formidable opponent. Why didn’t Indra attack Karna defeat him in battle and snatch away his Kavach the same way as Pandavas snatached away Ashwatthamas mani ? Why stand in front of him like a beggar ? ( Please don’t give me this hunkered junk explanation that Indra wanted to respect surya devtas boon because Indra is an arrogant devta with no respect to anyone including Krishna. Remember he was humbled by Krishna on 2 occasions for his shameless behaviour. One incident being after narakasuras death and the parijat tree episode.)

Indra taking the initiative to weaken Karna is the significance to which I want to draw your attention.

Karna's donation to Indra does not show Arjuna;s weakness. KArna has shown signs of weakness in Panchala war and Gandharva where he had his kavach kundal. Arjuna succeeds.

Pls tell me where have I given your junkered answer that Indra respected Suryas boon. Comaparing the Indra episode and Ashwatthama story are diff aspects which have nothing to do with each other. I dont know what made you say these meaningless aspects. Indra is arrogant but showed respect to Krishna, Shiva DEvi and Visnhu. Your comparing of Indra's arrogance with Mahabharat is 100% baseless and ridiculous.

  101. Mr. Kotian the funny reply award has to go to you. Your question “ Why will Indra snatch them??? He is no fool or thief to do so. My counter question why should he beg in front of Karna like a begger. He is king of the devtas an arrogant devta. If he is no fool or thief he is not a beggar either. Then why the hell did he come to Karna to beg for his kavach. You say this and Ashwatthama episode are diff aspects. I don know how can you ever compare these two. For your kind information I wasn’t drawing a parallel between these incidents. I wanted to enlighten you that an external equipment of a warrior can be snatched by force as well hence the ashwatthama eg. As usual aap example mein ulajh kar rah gayee or mudded ki baat pakad naheen paye.
Your most illogical quote Karna’s donation to Indra does not show Arjuna;s weakness. – Why may I ask ? . Indra is Arjunas father wanting to protect Arjuna from Karna or why else did he need Karnas kavach? For his bedrooms interior decoration. Indra bloody well knew that the with the kavach sooner or later Karna would catch up with Arjuna and be great inconvenience to him. You say KArna has shown signs of weakness in Panchala war and Gandharva where he had his kavach kundal. Arjuna succeeds. – I have quoted you passage from moola Mahabharata where Arjuna and his brother running from Karna even without his kavach. Its just that as usual you are incapable to comprehend them. Last but not the least our quote Your comparing of Indra’s arrogance with Mahabharat is 100% baseless and ridiculous. Again its not comparison but character evaluation. Indra an arrogant devta bows only before power. Hence he begging in front of Karna is the proof of Karnas greatness.

  102. Narakashura and Banashur will be killed by one arrow of Bhisma, Arjuna or Karna. Funny huh Great joke.

When Narakashura's son Bhaggdatta defeated Ghatokacha Bhima ,Satyaki and Abhimanyu and almost Killed Arjuna.

His father Narakashur who Lord Krishna took 24 days to killed will be killed by a single shot.

Narakashur and Banashur fearing whom even Greatest of warriors didn't even advent to that place will be killed by them.

I think you have not gone through Mahabharata .
Lord Krishna for benifitting the pandavas killed Narakashur before the war you know that?

Regarding Abhimanyus death what is the fuss about that.
From the very first day Bhisma was surrounded and attacked by 10 to 15 Maharathis. He didn't complain about that .
Abhimanyu was trapped in the last vuyha ,after that he didn't knew how to return.
So he was trapped . Karna only broke the bow of Abhimanyu unlike Arjuna who cut the arm of his cousin Bhusivaras. Why didn't Karna cut the head of Abhimanyu from behind?
If Karna had no option left why didn't he used vasava shakti on him?
Why Dronacharya didn't used Brahmastra on him?
Why Ashwatthama didn't use Narayanastra on him?
And whats the surity that Arjuna could have defeated Bhima?

    ReplyDelete
  103. What seperates Abhimanyu from all the other Maharathis is that, while the other Maharathis were defeating warriors which were somehow inferior to them Abhimanyu fought with warriors which had far greater experience and Knowledge of warfare apart. He set his own standards.
He showed better performance than any other Maharatis.
He lost only once in one to one combat that's also to None other than The greatest warrior of Kurukshetra Bhisma so no shame in that.

    ReplyDelete
  104. As usual Niraj you are at it again. You use contradictory comments and say the same things repeatedly even after i have explained having no reason. Ashwatthama was on the enemy side of the Pandavas. He killed the 5 sons of the Pandavas and fired Brahmastra at unborn Parikshit. This added more fuel to the fire resulting which the Pandavas forcibly snatched the jewel form Ashwatthama's head. Also this was done only by Krishna's saying. One more point, This happened after the war got over.
Indra on the other hand did not have any enmity or grudges with Karna. So where is the question of him forcibly removing his kavach kundal??? Why did you not ask as why the Pandavas did not remove Ashwatthama's jewel before the war ???
Indra asked Karna of his kavach kundal as he wanted to protect his son but Surya too warns his son of this as even he was concerned for his son. Here Karna knew that the beggar was actually Indra. But asked for his Shakti which he got only by donating those things. Please tell me where is my funny comment??? Or are you just imitating something. No where have I described any funny statements as you say so.

Indra may have shown disrespect and arrogance but always bowed to great sages, gods and the deities. I have shown no incapability to counter your questions. you have in fact ignored many facts and questions of mine where I have proved Arjun'as superiority. Indra is as usual at his treachory and cheating where he cunningly defeats the Asuras. So it is a bit obvious that he will cunningly snatch Karna of his kavach kundal. But how will that prove that Karna is great???
Greatness is shown by a person who has pure attitude, follows dharma, respects aged acharyas, and fights like a warrior. Not by one who runs form a war leaving his friend in danger or attacks from behind or mocking a woman while she is being disrobed. Or even asking the Commander as how to kill an undefeatable warrior deceitfully. Or who attacks by hiding behind the chariot. Indra never bowed to Karna. Why will Indra ever forcibly snatch them for no enmity??? Your statement really sounds hilarious. Or unreasonable. Indra is a warrior and would have forcibly took Karna's things if he was determined to do so. Begging from a person does not make him great. For the fact KArna knew who the beggar was.

And ARjuna is not a person who will ever run from anyone. That Karna could not even stop Arjuna's advance towards Jaydrath. Arjuna had once pierced Karna with four whetted shafts of great energy. Karna suffered great pain like a diseased person afflicted by bile, phlegm, wind, and fever. Once more Arjuna, with great speed, mangled Karna, piercing his very vitals, with numerous excellent shafts, of great keenness, and sped from his circling bow with much force and speed and care. Deeply struck,Karna covered with blood looked resplendent like a mountain of red chalk with streams of red water running adown its breast. Once more Arjuna pierced Karna in the centre of the chest with many strong shafts made entirely of iron and equipped with wings of gold and each resembling the fiery rod of the Destroyer, like the son of Agni piercing the Krauncha mountains.

  105. Time and again I have repeated that Karna attacked from behind at Abhimanyu. But you seem to hide or ignore those facts by saying that a bow can be broken. Why does Karna have to go behind and attack???? Thats my question. Please note that. You have always repeated the same things inspite of my clear expalanation

And you say that Arjuna is a warrior and dosent need a bow to defend himself from Ashwtama. I say that even Ved Vyasa who is not a warrior can do this. Pls explain to me what is a warrior. Who uses weapons or uses sorcery?? Ashwatthama used maya vidya and didnt figth like a warrior. You should note that these divine vidyas dont make a warrior. Weapons and their use make a warrior. Let me tell you that Arjuna too did the same when he almost killed a Gandharva named Angaarparva by charging a fire mantra at burning torch and charged at him.

    ReplyDelete
  106. No i am not only Karna's but also Arjuna fan. I loved all the sons Kunti. Infact the irony is that we are fighting over the superiority of two sons born out of same mother.
If you watched B.R Chopra's Mahabharata.
In the episode where there is a combat between Arjun and Karna after the death of Abhimanyu.
Arjun shoots an arrow at Karna( Pankaj Dheer) which hits his eye. Actually it was not an dramatised scene, it actually hit Pankaj Dheer eye which kept him out of shooting for a month.

I also came to know that , after repitative plea and pursuation to his uncle Lord Krishna Abhimanyu was not told how to exit the Chakravyouh.
    Why ?
There is nothing hidden to Lord Krishna. He knew that Jayadrath will utilised his boon on that day but he still took Arjuna away.
Similarly he knew Ashwatthama will kill all the Upapandavs but he still didn't do nothing.

But on numerous occassion he saved Arjuna from certain death.
Lord Krishna even saved Satyaki by donating his personal Chariot from Karna.
But why didn't he saved Abhimanyu and Upapandavs.
And Lord Krishna didn't gave Abhimanyu the knowledge of topmost Divine weapon.why?
Which would had definately help him come out of The Chakravyouh.
Who was more powerful in archery
    Pradyumna or Abhimanyu?
And why Lord Krishna gave the boon to Ghatokacha?

  107. have answered all your question. On a given day every great warrior is invincible. so karna too was inconveininced by abhimanyu the same way karna inconvenienced Arjuna and others on battle day 16th. From behind is irrelevant a maharathi is a warrior who can tackle n number of warriors at a radius of 360 degrees. Realise that a disciple of Parshurama has to take a pledge not to kill the following a eunuch a woman a son who is eklauta putra of his mother. hence even Bheshma a warrior who face parshurama could not defeat abhimanyu. Karna did not want to hurt abhimanyu. Remember he cut the bow of abhimanyu from behind. Your darling arjuna cut the hand of bhurishrava from behind. Jis teer se abhimanyu ka dhanush kata tha vohi teer abhimanyu ki gardan ya uske sharee ki kis hisse pe chalane se Karna ko doctor ne mana naheen kiya tha. This is the proof which makes it clear that Karna did not want to harm Abhimanyu
Cutting the bow is harmless as proven by my examples

    ReplyDelete
  108. Your as usual repeating the same things inspite of my explanation...Attacking from behind is a cowardice. Why dosent Karna attack from the front of Abhimanyu??? Abhimany is unnoticed. 360 degree angle here is not relevant here.If Abhimanyu knew that Karna was secretly attacking from behind, Karna would be left beaten. Note this And who told you that Karna didnt want to attack Abhimanyu????

Why did Karna then ever fight him??? Duryodhan ordered Karna and the others to kill Abhimanyu. And Karna tried doing so. Your chided comment that Karna could have killed him from behind. That would add to more of cowardice just as Rama was blamed for attacking behind Vali. You have still not answered as to why does Karna ask Drona how to deceitfully kill Abhimanyu. Veer hai tho saamne se vaar kyo nahi karta??? Cheating se kya bahaaduri saabit hoti hai??? Arjuna cut Bhurishravas hand not from behind as you say. He was a a distance and saved Satyaki as Bhurishravas was about to kill the unconscious Satyaki. It was not behind. There is no inferiority on Arjuna here.

  109. your question who told you karna did not want to harm abhimanyu. I have given proof. I can quote you the passages where bheeshma explains this to yudhishthira lekin kya fayda. Your formula is simple yeda banke peda khane ka. You wont acknowledge them. Karna figiting abhuimanyu doesnt sanction aggression he had fought nakula and sahdeva also whom he did not want to kill. why does karna ask drona how to kill abhimanyu. Its drona who is the commander in chief obviously he will ask him. Karna did not attaack abhimanyu. He just cut of the bow which is almost irrelevant which I have explained. But it simply does not enter your thick head.

  110. First of all respected Gaurav Kotian, you are stubbornly sticking to the lows points of Karna.
To judge a character first you need to be neutral. In life if you have slightest of soft corner to a side you tend to be biased to that.
As i already posted i loved all the sons of Kunti therefore i am not here to proove Arjuna to be inferior to Karna.
But i want to highlights the point where you are contradicting yourself and you also didn't have gone through the Mahabharata deeply.

    (1) You said Arjuna restrained himself from using Devine weapons.
False. Arjuna used Brahmastra on Trigatas ,when he was surrounded and made unconsious by them.
Thats my point if Abhimanyu would have taught such weapons he could also have escaped the Chakravyouh.

    (b) He also used Sanmohan astra when surrounded by the Kauravas and made them unconsious.
But Abhimanyu had no knowledge of such weapons.
Thats why Arjuna is rated higher than Abhimanyu and Bhima.
    (c) He killed Jayadrath by using Pasupatrastra
    (d) He was the first to used Brahmastra on Karna on day 17th.

    (2) You said Karna was a coward becs he was a part of Killing Abhimanyu from Behind.
If it is so than the whole pandavas are cowards since they attacked their old Grandsire Bhisma unitedly. But when they failed they went to him to know the tricks of killing him.

(b)You also said Abhimanyu was killed decietfully. Its an complete Tacticall move. Do you why Karna only broke his bow and not cut his head.
Becs Karna didn't killed any sons and Grandsons of Pandavs even when he got numerous chances.exception is Ghatockach the reason
    i will post you later.

    (3) You said Arjuna would have finished the war on day 1.
    False.
Thats why Arjun died before reaching heaven.
Becs Arjuna was a vain boaster he thought that if he can defeat the entire Kauravas at Virat. He can do the same at Kurukshetra.
But he was helpless before Bhisma.
And couldn't killed Dronacharya and Killed Karna unfairly.
And thats not my word its are word of Yuddhistira.

    (4) You said Karna was a coward becs left Duryodhan ,Dushashan in midway against Ghandharvs.
By the way what Braveness thousands of Ghandharvs using devine weaponed showed fighting against one Karna.
Again i didn't wanted to bring this point but since you are hitting below the waist.
Arjuna also left thousands of women in midway against the Robbers.

    (5) whether Karna is better Arjuna thats debatable but when you said Karna was selfish becs he only donated for serving his ego.
You know that after Karna's death Lord Krishna said with the death of Karna features like sacrifice, Generosity had left this world.

You perhaps also didn't know that before the war when Lord Krishna went to Karna.
Karna asked him a boon that ,whoever dies in Kurukshetra will immediatly reached heaven.
    Which Lord Krishna approved.
When Lord Krishna asked Karna to asked for himself. Karna asked that his name will taken in respect by Pandavas and will regard me as their eldest brother.

(6)Now finally,Karna did a great sin by calling Draupadi with bad names in dice games.
But who gave him the opportunity, the Pandavs.

If Karna's silence at lakshagrah is a sin so is the Pandavas.

  111. I dont know what makes you think that a human being is inferior if he begs. Those beggars consist of tiny children, old men and disabled. Many of them are in a very pathetic and helpless state. They do not have any other means to live. Some are also thrown out or ran away due to their problems. Or born that way. Indra's story differs from this. Making a human inferior this way shows your pathetic mind and no enlightenment. No human is inferior. All are one.
And dont bring Ramayana over here. Rama fired those divine weapons as they were Rakshasas who never get killed easliy. Only divine weapons make short work of them. Kumbhakarna's thing is diff. Gigantic body of his compelled Rama to use divine weapons. Else Rama didnt use them in the first place. Same with ravana too. He was the most powerful rakshasa who got various boons. As I said earlier, Rakshasas and Asuras get killed only by divine weapons. Many of them got invincible due to boons. So it is obvious that divine weapons here are necessary. And Karna or Arjuna or the others were no demons.

Inspite of my timely repeating the kavach kundal theory, I dont know what makes something look so fabricated to you. I am fed up explaining that. Its time you read my post carefully before unnecessarily creating . And please tell me where have I said that this above theory has no connection with the war. You have also said that possession of divine weapons are a proof of superiority. In this case I can say that Arjuna was the most superior hero in the MB as he obtained numerous divine weapons in heaven and also from various gods in the Himalayas.

You have said that Arjuna fires Anjalika at unarmed Karna.. Here I agree Arjuna breaking the war code. But let me quote that Arjuna does it only after Krishna tells so. Its not Arjuna's own idea. Arjuna too recollects Karna deceitfully killing his son which makes him kill Karna that way. I agree that Karna was powerful and Arjuna had no time to waste as both had sworn to kill each other that day. It was now or never.
Behosh Arjuna pe teer chalane se karna ko doctor ne mana naheen kiya thaa. So even I say that Virat yudh me behosh Karna aur uske saath dusre maharahtiyo par pe teer chalane se doctor ne Arjuna ko bhi manaa nahi kiya tha.

I have not boasted my MB knowledge. I have highlighted Arjuna's and Bhima's superiority. Also I have never said that Arjuna is the best in MB or that Karna was not good. Also its useless discussing with people who repeat the same theories inspite of timely explanation of things. I have not adulterated any info of Mb as you say so. You also say that I ignored many points of yours. I have accepted what all you said and highlighted your comments by my knowledge from Vyasa'a MB. You have also not answered all my theories. In fact kept quiet or ignored them. And as usual hankering that blame to me. In this case you fall in those categories like a vakil jo sach sunke bhi behre banne ka dongh karta hai

    ReplyDelete
  112. Your silly formula of yeda banke bi peda khana suits you even more. I too have explained. Using contradictory statements is your usual habit. I have read your post that Bheeshma explains all this to Yudhistira. If Karna dosent want to harm Abhimanyu why the hell did he ever fight him?? Why did he listen to Duryo that he should be killed??? WHy did he indulge in killing of Abhimanyu??? You too have not acknowledged this part. You have unnecessarily dragged Nakula and Shadev too. Karna had pledged Kunti that he will kill only Arjuna and not his brothers. Abhimanyu is not among that PAndava. Here again you have given an unnecessary and insane posting. No doubt
Nakula and Shadev were not so expert in archery. It is obvious they will loose to Karna in archery. Why didnt you say that Karna didnt challenge them in a sword duel??? I dont know whether you have knowledge of Mb or simply giving fake comments. Please tell me where in the war does Karna not attack Abhimanyu?????
Like I said you are good in creating contradictory statements. Nakula and Sahadev had nothing to do here and now you say that Karna never attacked Abhimanyu. Your head is even more thicker in this case. Or like a fraud who can see but wears goggels to pretend that he is blind. What is that "just cut his bow'??? Didnt anything further more happen??? Dont put fake postings here

    ReplyDelete
  113. I have repeated that why does Karna have to use deceit??? Its because he lost in fair wars against Abhimanyu. But you nevre nswered them because you dont have any. Fabrication is another thing which you should not drag something out here and put that blame on others. And dont repeat again that Karna never attacked Abhimanyu.

    1. Karna did not attack Abhimanyu. He only broke his bow and destroyed his chariot on the request of Drona.
And the "Drupad" incident which you repeat that Karna could not defeat Drupad with the Hastinapur army and Duryodhana since Drona had asked Drupad as Gurudakshina but Arjun was able to accomplish it. I do not see such an incident in the Vyasa MB. If I remember correctly Karna was labeled a sutaputra by Drona and therefore Drona refused to teach him. Where does the question of gurudakshina come from when Karna was the student of Suryadev not Drona? Karna was not present during the Guru Dakshina episode because the gurudakshina was to be given only and ONLY by KAURAVA or PANDAVAS in which PANDAVAS WON

  114. There is no joke here as you state. Ravna adn Vali also got killed by a single arrow. so does Meghnad, WHy not Banasur and Narkasur. Their stories are to do with Krishna. Abhimanyu's thing is diff. He was weaponless, arorless, injured. Not Bhishma WHy didnt you quote that??? Karna didnt cut the head as Drona told him to cut only his bow

  115. Mr Kotian Please state the names whom you are posting the to . I am confused whether you are posting to me or Mr Niraj or anybody else.

Secondly Niraj as i can fully understand your sentiments. You are deeply hurt when Gaurav Kotian responded with words like pleghm coming out of Karna etc.

    But still Kindly restrained yourself
from making harsh comments on Lord Indra.
Both Niraj and Gaurav control your anger guys.
As per as i my humble Knowledge knows Lord Indra going before Karna doesn't make him inferior to Karna. After all he is our respected King of Devas. Even many Demons have defeated Lord Indra but it doesn't neccessarily meant they have also the devine powers with them to regard them as holy. I know these are your words in anger.

Gaurav i don't know whom you have refferred the questions to but i want to respond it .

First of all Abhimanyu wasn't meek warrior.
He was regarded as a Maharathi by The greatest warrior of Kurukshetra i.e Bhisma.
Who ever fought with him considering him as a child had lost to him.
He showed greater valour than his age.
He had better archery skills than anyother Maharathis and thats include his father .
But big factor is that he didn't have greater knowledge of Devine weapons thats ultimately led to his downfall.
Thats why even after having superior skills.
He is not considered as great as his father or Bhisma or Drona or Karna.
Why knowledge of devine weapons is must i have already stated how Arjuna or Karna rescued themself successfully when attacked by many Maharathis.

And in Kurukshetra war other than Bhisma only Karna had the ability to Kill Arjuna fairly.
And among Arjuna , karna and Bhisma i rate Bhisma to be higher than them.

And on that day Abhimanyu was wearing a "impenetrable armour" chanted with mantras. Only Dronacharya and his most beloved disciple knew how to break that .Even Ashwatthama had no idea about that.
Now you will asked me why Karna can't defeat him fairly.
Without using devine weapons no one even Arjuna can't kill Abhimanyu fairly.
Now you kindly address to my earlier post.

  116. Again i would like to state that There is Arjuna Award for the greatest sportsperson ,there is Dronacharya award and some day there may be Bhimaward for strongmen.

But there can't be any Karnaward ,becs we don't have a generous heart like karna or Mahabali.
Again between Karna and Bhima and Abhimanyu. The possession of supreme Devine weapons like Brahmastra ,Bhargavastra,Rudrastara (i don't know if its another name of Pasupatastra), Nagastra and Vasavashakti definately made him superior to them.
If he seriously wanted to kill Bhima or Abhimanyu.
Time and Time again i am quoting the same ,Karna didn't shot any of these weapons on Bhima or any other pandavas or their son why?except Arjuna becs he knew that they can't counter them.

And Finally it was known to whole world thats include Karna also that Arjuna had Pasupatrastra. So definately he had the knowledge to counter that .
Unlike Arjuna who knew nothing about Vasavashakti or Vaishnavastra or Narayanastra since it was kept concealed.

  117. Karna vs Arjuna is indirectly Indra Vs Surya.

In Ramayana Indra given his son a necklace which makes Vali invincible.
And too stronger for Sugreev the son of Surya.
But Surya the giver of life never tried to do a sinful act like Indra did in Mahabharata time. And at that time Rama means Vishnu heled son of Surya.

And the reverse of this happened in Mahabharata but here you can see act of King of Devas. And Son of Surya "Karna" is also like Surya. The great Daanvir.

And Karna is superior to Arjuna not just because of archery skills.
Karna is great because of his life his deeds. Karna is statue of sacrifice.

Both Karna & Arjuna are like their fathers.
    Karna is giver like Surya.
    Arjuna is arrogant like Indra.

Hey Smartboy, just pointing out that just because someone has something named after them, it doesn't make them a great person.

For example there are many schools and colleges named after Francis Xavier, even though the man was a horrible, evil, racist, missionary who was responsible for the Goa Inquisition.

  119. Arjun...by far the Greatest warrior of all time

Arjun had never ever been beaten by anyone.

Do you remember the "Viraat yuddha" where he single-handedly defeated the whole Kaurav Army which included- Karna, Bhishma, Duryodhana, Dronacharya etc. & that too without the help of Krishna.

Also, if you have read the Original Mahabharat Book then you will find that Arjun defeated Karna on 7 different Occasions-Thrice in Viraat War, once during Draupadi Swayamwar & thrice during Mahabharat War

Arjun also defeated the 'Yadavas' during the Subhadra Kidnapping, this story you can find in Srimad Bhagavat Puran.

Lord Shiva could only contain Arjun because of his Celestial weapons...but here we are talking about the warrior's personal fighting abilities....so Arjun prevails in that.

Also, Karna was defeated 8 to 10 times by Kunti-putra Bhima in Mahabharat War, & by Abhimanyu during the Chakravhiew War. Abhimanyu also defeated Dronacharya during the Chakravhiew War.

Lord Krishna ran away from battles from Jarasandh & Kalaywan so he finds a lower spot (No offense to the spiritual belief of the people)

If you have read the Mahabharat Book in detail then you would know that Karna's capabilities had been over-exagerated in B.R.Chopra's Mahabharat TV serial, so that the Battle between Karna & Arjun in the Mahabharat war could look more competitive & Fierce.

Also, Karna ran away after being defeated by Gandharvas who had captured Duryodhan.

Karna was also defeated along with the Kaurav army while battling with the Drupad for giving "Gurudakshina" to Drona.

Karna was only relying on his "Shakti Weapon" to kill Arjun & not on his own abilities.

During the "Jaydrath Wadh", the whole Kaurav army could not stop Arjun from killing Jaydrath. Kindly note that the incidence in which Krishna makes the Sun disappear behind the clouds was just the spice in the story to exibit the godliness of Krishna....but actually disappearance of the Sun behind the clouds was mere coincidence & the Mahabharat book states that even after the Sun had disappeard behind the clouds, Jaydrath did not come out of his Protective 'Kamal vhiew' of Kaurav Army & they all continued fighting.....Arjun defeated all the Kaurav Warriors which included Karna, Kripacharya, Ashwatthama, Duryodhana, Dusshashan etc....They all ran away from Arjun leaving Jaydrath alone...after which Arjun cuts his head-off.

Arjun could have killed Bhishma, Duryodhana, Dronacharya etc. easily if he wanted to in the Mahabharat War...But because of his reluctance to kill them...made Krishna to find other ways to kill them...Dont you remember how Arjun ran to kill Dristadyumna when he killed Dronacharya..

In my opinion the top 10 Mahabharat rankings should be like this:

    1. Arjun
    2. Gangaputra Bheeshma
    3. Lord Parshurama
    4. Abhimanyu
    5. Guru Drona
    6. Kunti-putra Bhima
    4. Lord Krishna
    7. Lord Balrama
    8. Karna
    9. Satyaki
    10.Ashwatthama

Kindly note the warriors from Ramayan Yuga, had all fought with their armies or with celestial weapons, so they cannot be compared.

Incident 4:Karna defeated & freightened by Abhimanyu in chakruvyuhu:

Hearing these words, Karna, afflicted with the shafts of Arjuna's son, once more said unto Drona, 'Exceedingly afflicted with the shafts of Abhimanyu, I am staying in battle, only because (as a warrior) I should stay here. Indeed, the arrows of this south of great energy are exceedingly fierce. Terrible as they are and possessed of the energy of fire, these arrows are weakening my heart.'

what Lord Krishna think of karna's bravery:

Krishna said(To Arjuna):.I swear by Truth to thee, O friend, that my limbs are burning at the thought that while the son of Subhadra was thus advancing, consuming the hostile army with his shafts, even on that occasion the wicked-souled Karna was engaged in acts of hostility to that hero,Unable, O Partha, to stay in that battle before Abhimanyu's face, mangled with the shafts of Subhadra's son, deprived of consciousness, and bathed in blood, Karna drew deep breaths, inflamed with rage. At last, afflicted with arrows, he was obliged to turn his back upon the field.

ACCORDING TO MY ANALYSIS OF THIS TRANSLATION IN THE FINAL BATTLE OF MAHABHARATA,ARJUNA & KARNA ASSAULTED EACH OTHER 35 TIMES WITH NUMEROUS, THOUSANDS & LAKHS OF ARROWS ………8 TIMES THEY NULLIFIED EACH OTHER ARROWS ,12 TIMES BOTH KARNA & ARJUNA PIERCED EACH OTHER BUT THE REMAINING 15 TIMES ARJUNA PIERCED KARNA IN EVERY PART OF HIS BODY & KARNA’S LIMBS,YOKE,STANDARD,STEEDS,CHARIOT WERE RIPPED APART & KARNA WAS LEFT MANGLED BATHED IN BLOOD & KARNA HAD NO ANSWER FOR ARJUNA’S ARROWS!!!
